Flight Manual

The flight manual contains limitations, recommended procedures and information of a nature such that adherence to it will enable the level of safety which is intended by the Airworthiness Requirements and the Air Navigation legislation to be regularly achieved. The Flight Manual, by definition in the Air Navigation Regulations forms part of the Certificate of Airworthiness.

Amendments to the Manual

The operator of the aircraft registered under their organization should ensure to keep the flight manual up to date via subscriptions to the aircraft manufacturers and state of design. This is your responsibility.

Flight Manuals and all amendments thereto shall be subject to acceptance or approval, as appropriate, by the CAAF. Which supplements your flight manual must contain depends on what modifications and equipment your aircraft has.

To ensure you have the latest information, you should check the manufacturer or type certificate holder’s website. Again, this is your responsibility.

Further information on Flight Manuals could be found in Chapter 7-2 of Standard Document- Airworthiness of Aircraft. For additional queries, write to the attention of:
