* Safety Oversight of:-

Air Navigation Services

  • Air Traffic Management (ATM),

  • Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS),

  • Aviation Meteorology (AM),

  • Aviation Search and Rescue,

  • Aeronautical Information Service (AIS),

  • Procedures for Air Navigation and Charting

Aerodromes and Ground Aids

Safety Oversight includes:-

  • Certification & Surveillance of aerodromes including Helicopter landing sites and Water landing sites;

  • Certification & Surveillance of Service Providers for CNS, ATM, Aviation MET, Instrument Flight Procedure Design, and AIS

  • Certification & Surveillance of Aviation Training Institutes providing support training in the areas of ANS and AGA

  • Assist the CAAF Personnel Licensing section with licensing of Air Traffic Service personnel and Aeronautical facility technicians;

*Issue of Approvals and Permissions:-

  • Pyrotechnics, balloons, etc.

  • Off Airport Developments

* Resolution of Safety Concerns including incident investigations;

* Implementation of SSP & Safety Promotion;

* Coordination with ICAO APAC RO on ANS/ AGA matters;

* Keep current GSD Standards Documents, Guidance Material, and the AIC
