About us
The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) is the national aviation authority in the Republic of Fiji and is responsible for discharging functions on behalf of the Government of Fiji under the States responsibility to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, also known as the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
CAAF regulates, certifies and licences airline operators, airport operators, air traffic and air navigation service providers, aviation security service providers, pilots, aircraft engineers, air traffic controllers, technicians, airline contracting organisations, and international air cargo operators in Fiji and abroad and conducts surveillance of these entities.

Establish and maintain an effective regulatory framework including strategies for enforcement,

Ensure industry compliance with regulatory requirements,

Discharge State’s obligations to ICAO,

To have industry fully implement self-management of safety by implementing safety management systems,

Encourage high standards of aviation safety and security through education and regular consultation with industry,

Maintain a competent and motivated workforce and establish a performance assessment system that encourages productivity,

Ensure continuous improvement to CAAF’s internal systems, and maintain ISO certification,

Support Fiji as necessary on regional aviation matters and regulatory issues,

Provide aviation-related advice to the Minister responsible for Civil Aviation,

Ensure CAAF has the capacity to meet the demands created by the industry growth,

Develop, implement and manage the States Safety Programme (SSP) under the National Safety Plan in line with the Global Aviation Safety Plan.
