Private Operator
A private operator is an individual or operator that operates its aircraft solely for private flight purposes.
A private flight is defined as any flight operation that does not involve payment or remuneration in exchange for the flight operation.
Accordingly, the activity that such aircraft and its crew can conduct is quite restricted.
A Private operator does not need to hold an Air Operator Certificate, although it is recommended that a private operator maintain its aircraft to the higher standard of commercial air transport.
There are a number of operators in Fiji who fall under this category.
